Running Camps Overview

The Kilimanjaro Athletics Sports Club (KASC) was founded with the goal of developing the next generation of world-class Tanzanian distance runners.

The club is based in the town of Moshi, in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, in the northern part of the Tanzania.

Club runners and coaches include winners of: Commonwealth Games marathon medals; international marathons; national road and cross-country championships; and numerous races on the world athletics circuit.

Kilimanjaro Athletics Sports Club welcomes runners from all over the world to train with its runners in Moshi, Tanzania as they prepare for the 2010 season.  In 2010, KASC will open up its training sessions for Mzungus (the Swahili word for “Westerners”) who are interested to visit, train and live with its athletes.  Visitors can run in the cradle of civilization and the epicenter of African running that is the Great Rift Valley.  KASC training camps, held several times throughout the year, demonstrate the training methods, commitment and lifestyle of the Tanzanian athletes as they try to better their lives through running, competing to represent their country on the international stage.  Previously, KASC camps have been held exclusively for local Tanzanian athletes.
